FREMONT

Be 100% Free of Educational Debt and Enjoy a 4-Day Work Week.

In this Med-Peds practice, you will have the security of joining a well-established partner and taking over the practice of another well-respected and successful physician. Your patient mix will be approximately 65% adult and 35% pediatrics. In addition to having the advantage of a 4-day work week, you will enjoy the unusual benefit of having all of your educational debt paid in yearly increments – this debt repayment will be in addition to your salary and production bonuses.

Your practice will be in association with Gerber Memorial Health System (GMHS), a community directed healthcare system serving the people of Newaygo County and its surrounding area. The system is anchored by a 77-bed not-for-profit hospital, Gerber Memorial, located in Fremont, Michigan, forty-five (45) miles north of Grand Rapids. Rural Newaygo County has a population of 48,000 and growing.

The GMHS Mission (www.gerberhospital.org) is to provide competent, compassionate, community health care and to provide it close to home. Our vision is to be the health system of choice for greater Newaygo County. The long-term goal is to improve the health status of the residents that we serve. To that end, we have recently completed an expansion and renovation campaign that increased surgery capacity, enhanced emergency, maternity, and diagnostic imaging, developed women’s services, and provided additional space for patient comfort and confidentiality. Gerber Memorial offers a complete range of clinical services, including many innovative services often found only at large urban facilities for a continuum of care.

In addition to being a great place to live, Fremont, Michigan is a popular vacation destination offering recreational activities year around. Fremont is a community with a proud heritage and home to the world's largest baby food company, Gerber Products. While being located less than an hour from busy metropolitan areas and the beautiful Lake Michigan's shoreline, Fremont offers the charm of small town living with excellent school systems, many churches, and a business community that provides old-fashioned customer service.

Few areas can match the greater Fremont area for wealth of natural beauty, cultural life, economic stability and a healthy family environment. To a great extent, the image defined by quality of life.

Recreation enthusiasts have four seasons full of wonderful ways to enjoy the outdoors in the greater Fremont area. Newaygo County's 234 natural lakes and ponds, 356 miles of rivers and streams, and 349,132 acres of forest land provide a dramatic setting for camping, boating, fishing, and hunting. The rivers have also become particularly popular for canoe and float trips. Nature lovers can enjoy walking on miles of woodland trails and exploring the newly developed wetlands. Golfers can choose from six courses in Newaygo County, ranging from a family-oriented par-three to challenging and scenic fairways. The public school runs programs for enthusiasts of tennis, volleyball, soccer, softball and basketball.
