Welcome to the NMPRA DEI Corner!

New Initiative!

Calling all interested residents, medical students, alumni and faculty! NMPRA has developed a committee for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The  purpose of this committee is to develop a pipeline program for under-represented minorities specifically in the field of Med-Peds. We aim to foster a community and safe space for those who identify as underrepresented in medicine (UiM) within our national Med-Peds network. Through this committee we hope to provide a protected space for discussions of justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and representation. We will aim to promote visibility of UiM faculty and residents, strengthen mentorship across generations, and facilitate recruitment and retention of those who are UiM with the goal of creating a more diverse Med-Peds specialty across the nation. If interested in participating for the upcoming academic year please email our NMPRA DEI Director @ [email protected] or click here to join our list serve: https://forms.gle/wock3pLmSfARxAVQ9

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at NMPRA

A reflection of the communities we serve

As physicians, we dedicate our lives to the betterment of our society’s health. We believe this achievement can only be attained by ensuring all voices, backgrounds, and walks of life are appropriately represented and celebrated. We seek to perpetuate a culture of thoughtfulness and inclusion, breaking all barriers to expand minority representation in medicine.
We Commit To:
  • Work towards diminishing healthcare disparities
  • Highlight and support underrepresented peoples in medicine
  • Serve as a concentrated community of advisors, mentors, and colleagues
  • Simplify pathways and pipelines for minorities in medicine
  • Ensuring diversity in Med-Peds for generations to come
DEI Mentorship Program

Thank you for your interest in our diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts! We are excited to launch a mentorship program as part of this initiative, which will help connect underrepresented medical students with residents and faculty who can serve as mentors. If you are interested in participating, please complete the form below and we will do our best to match you with a mentor!

This can be a country of origin or your ethnic heritage. We are only asking this question for matching purposes and it is okay to leave it blank as we know this is a tough question to answer!
