ArchCare at Mother Cabrini Specialty Hospital in Manhattan is a medical home for children and adults with special health care needs and support services. We are dedicated to helping people with serious developmental disabilities and other extraordinary medical needs reach their highest potential.
We are located in a state-of-the-art, recently renovated, 72-bed facility. We provide the highest standard of care to our medically complex patients including mechanical ventilation, medication management and tube feeding. We function as an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, nurses, respiratory therapists, nurse aides, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, recreational therapists, and many others.
As our patient population continues to age, we are seeking an additional hospitalist to help us care for our adult residents.

Qualifications:
- Must have an active medical license in the state of New York (or the ability to obtain one)
- 1-2 years general adult hospitalist experience preferred
- Will consider new residency graduates!
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited medical school
- Completion of a US residency program in internal medicine or med-peds
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, treat and manage adult and pediatric patients in an inpatient hospital setting.
- Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans in accordance with statutes, regulations and protocols.
- Provide phone consultation to pediatric-trained attendings for management of the adult patients on the census.
- Receive guidance from pediatricians when covering pediatric patients on the census.
- Collaborate with nurses, APPs, ancillary staff, respiratory therapists, social worker, case manager and those positions on the clinical team.
- Work with families/loved ones to provide health services, education, counseling and emotional support.
- Issue and manage medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines. Order laboratory tests, interpret and explain test results.
- Provide education regarding medications, risks, benefits and reasonable outcome expectations.
- Communicate with residents and engage in follow-up as necessary.
- Supervise clinical providers (APPs, Nurses) and provide performance feedback in all aspects of clinical functions.
- Continually review current standards of care and work with leadership team to implement new processes as needed.
Administrative Activities (if indicated)
- May assist with management of the unit
- Evaluate and effectively manage resident care, quality improvement, staff performance, workflow and effective teamwork
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental standards, policies, guidelines and protocols
