Yonkers: New York- Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center Looking for a Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Physician

The Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center (Yonkers, New York) has an immediate opening for a Physician who is dual-trained in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics to join our distinguished medical team.  We are expanding our facility and services by building a first-of-its-kind 96-bed Young Adult Center, which will combine innovative programming, advanced technology solutions, and our commitment to excellence, quality and loving relationships to provide a home for those who are aging out of pediatric services.

As the nation’s largest pediatric long term care facility, Elizabeth Seton Children’s Center offers an environmentally conscious, state of the art setting dedicated to providing the highest quality care to individuals with medical complexity, from infancy through young adulthood.

Currently home to 169 residents, including over 75 ventilator dependent children, Elizabeth Seton offers an exceptionally rewarding experience for professionals seeking to make an impact in the lives of some of the most underserved and vulnerable children and young adults in New York State.  Our diverse, transdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, recreation therapists, creative arts therapists and child life specialists provide unique opportunities to collaborate, inspire and elevate care in order to maximize the potential of our residents.

We are looking for a motivated, compassionate and growth-oriented Physician to join our team and help us advance this exciting new dimension of innovative care.  This position offers an extraordinary opportunity to shape the future of Complex Care and participate in the national conversation surrounding how children with medical complexity transition into adulthood.

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Physician will coordinate the overall medical care for a cohort of children and young adults; lead Plan of Care meetings; supervise Palliative Care Fellows; collaborate with a diverse team of direct care disciplines; and spearhead exciting new research opportunities and quality initiatives.  Board certification/eligibility, New York State license, and DEA certification are required.  Applicants with certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine or Critical Care Medicine are strongly encouraged.
